Blood Orange Anxiety Antidote Smoothie

Never under estimate the power of a delicious and well-balanced smoothie. I have been harnessing the power of smoothies for years. They’re an easy way to get in so many nutrients and if you’re busy like I am, sometimes its the only thing that makes sense.

This smoothie specifically was designed to help my friends out there who suffer with anxiety, anxiousness and overall are feeling a little heavy in the mental health department. Mental health care has come so far in the last few years and I am a full supporter in doing whatever you need to do to make sure that you are taking care of #1. I think where the conversation tends to fall a but short is the connection to what we’re eating, and how we’re feeling + thinking. This also goes hand in hand with our hormones and menstrual cycles for those of us who have them.

The gut brain connection is very real and so much of our mental health can also be contributed to our microbiome and nutrients… or lack there of. Food is fuel, and that is something to not take lightly when it comes to our mental health. I know for me personally, when I’m eating processed foods, not getting in all my nutrients and am drinking alcohol more than usual, my mental health struggles. Even if everything is “ok” in my life, I know that if I’m not taking care of my gut health, everything else suffers and my anxiety is running the show.

This smoothie is packed with magnesium, potassium, b vitamins, and all the things you need to support your gut and boost all those happy hormones!

This smoothie is:

  • The best way to start your day

  • Dairy Free

  • Easy to make

  • Perfect for busy schedules

  • The best afternoon pick-me-up
