How To Make The Crispiest Brussel Sprouts!

It’s officially fall, and to me that means brussel sprouts! These are the low key superfood of the season because they are packed with tons of vitamins, antioxidants, and full of fiber, yet they never get the recognition they deserve. Well this post is my way honoring such a great superfood. Diets high in veggies like brussel sprouts can provide many added health benefits including improved immune system health, decreased inflammation, and an improved gut health. Serves 2-3 people

The Goods:

  • 1 bunch brussel sprouts, ends removed if needed & cut in half

  • 1 tbsp avocado oil

  • 2 tbsp white balsamic

  • 1 tbsp Big Tree Farms brown coconut sugar

  • 1 tbsp dijon mustard

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1/2 tsp pepper

  • 1 tsp granulated garlic

The Method:

  1. Preheat oven to 400.

  2. Place a large metal sheet pan in the oven as it preheats.

  3. Take a small mason jar and add in avocado oil, white balsamic, coconut sugar, dijon, salt, pepper, garlic, and stir until fully mixed.

  4. Add your brussel sprouts into a large mixing bowl, and pour your marinade over the veggies, and mix until everything is coated.

  5. By now your oven and sheet pan are hot. Carefully take your hot sheet pan out, and pour your prepped brussels onto it. Quickly with tongs, flip all the brussels to be face down, this is the most important step. This will help create a layer of delicious caramelization!

  6. Bake at 400 for 15-25 minutes, depending on the size of your brussel sprouts, the bigger ones take longer to cook. Be sure to give them a gentle shake halfway through roasting. You’ll know when they are done when they are fork tender and golden brown.

  7. Great appetizer to bring at your next dinner potluck or holiday party. Best served warm/hot.
