5 ingredient Nut Free Nutella

It’s not very often you get a superfood combined with a dessert, but this nut free Nutella made from sunflower seeds is just that! Sunflower seeds are one of my favorite ingredients to use in recipes because they are allergy friendly, packed with vitamins like zinc, potassium, copper, manganese, iron just to name a few, and are full of healthy fiber for your gut microbiome. Plus this entire batch has over 66 grams of protein…whoa! It’s no wonder why people call them superfoods.

Oh, and the best part about this recipe is it contains zero added oils, unlike the many Nutella recipes out on the market/internet. Enjoy this nut free Nutella to help promote healthy heart function, reduce inflammation, and support a healthy immune system.

This recipe is:

  • high in fiber

  • plant based

  • high in protein

  • dairy free

  • heart health dessert

  • kid friendly

  • diabetes friendly

I love this recipe because it’s made with just 5 simple ingredients, and pairs perfectly with toast, fruit, as a garnish on a smoothie bowl, or simply by itself. Store in an airtight container in the fridge for 5-7 days.

  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1/2 cup unsweetened plant based milk + extra if needed to thin out

  2. After they have baked for 10 minutes. Grab a food processor and add your roasted seeds, cacao, coconut sugar, and vanilla extract. Blend on high for 5-7 minutes until you have a grainy paste.

  3. Remove the lid, scrap the sides of the food processor, then add the plant based milk and blend again for 2-3 minutes until you have thick like consistency.

  4. Taste for sweetness. Enjoy with your smoothies, desserts, fruit, toast, you name it!
