These bars are amazing for a post- morning work out pick-me-up! Maca Root is known for its natural energy boosting powers.  And ladies... it also can help with hormonal issues! This high protein and B vitamin bar will get you going and keep your blood sugar from dropping come lunchtime.

Makes 12 Bars

The Method:

Line a small hotel pan (cookie sheet) with parchment paper.  Set aside.

In a bowl, add the sunflower seeds, flax meal, chia seeds, maca powder and salt.  

In a food processor, grind the almonds to a coarse consistency.  Add almonds to the mix of seeds and powder.  

In a saucepan, add the local honey, coconut oil and almond butter.  Stir over low heat until all ingredients are combined and smooth. Pour this mixture into the bowl with the rest. Mix well.

Pour the final mixture into the prepared hotel pan.  Cover and let set in refrigerator over night. Cut into squares and serve!

Tip- in hotter climates these bars need to be stored in the refrigerator permanently and will last you up to two weeks!

1 cup raw almonds
1/2 cup sun flower seeds
1/2 cup flax meal
2 Tbl black chia seeds
2 Tbl maca root powder
1/4 cup local honey
1/4 cup coconut oil
1/3 cup almond butter
1/2 tsp sea salt
